I have been busy in my sewing corner this week.

To-Do Tuesday ~ Another Week Done; Another Begun from Life in the Scrapatch


 Here is my Week 6 ~ Weathervane Block for the

Summer in the Garden Quilt Along

This was a fun and easy block to sew.  

The instructions were for making this block with hour glass units.  I cut the squares oversize and trimmed and squared my hourglass block to 6.5" before sewing them into the 12.5" block.

Welcome to my Summer Garden, too! 

On Monday, there were two new blocks for the 

Summer in the Garden Quilt Along

The main block was this cute Honeybee Block Posted Here


There was also a Bonus Block 

Garden Gate Block ~ Free Pattern Here

Although I like this block, it does not say "garden gate " to me.


So I devised this improv block as a stylized version ...


... of my real garden gate, pictured here with my pink roses just starting to bloom.

Looking at it, I may add green cut-offs to the upper two ...

Summer in the Garden ~ On a Rainy Monday from Life in the Scrapatch


Rainy Monday = Funday in the Quilty Garden

 Today was another day of deluging in a string of deluging days.

That is okay.  

It was a good day to stay in and sew a summer garden. 


Monday is the day a new block is posted to the 

Summer in the Garden Quilt Along

Sew I stayed inside and sewed with my pretty flower fabrics.


Today's block is this pretty  Bird of Paradise block.

I Like Thursday # 101 ~ Back To Sewing in My Happy Place. from Life in the Scrapatch


Happy Thursday!

I am back to playing with the fabrics in my happy place.
Mr. Scrapatch is still recovering but he is back to work.
Today he is at a regular appointment with his heart doctor before going in.
Yesterday he had physical therapy. Tomorrow he has physical therapy.
On the weekend, he will have a honey-do list of small tasks to catch up on.

This week I have been busy in my happy place 

and I am feeling more sewing accomplished.

I could not resist fussy cutting one of the big beautiful bees 

from a fat quarter of

I have a fat quarter bundle of this but have never cut into it before.

It is sitting on an open shelf in my sewing area waiting for the "right" project.

Stitch Sew & Show ~ Week 25 from Life in the Scrapatch

 


Welcome to Stitch Sew & Show ~ Week 25

It has been very hot here and keeping the gardens (and ourselves) hydrated has been a daylong task.  

I have had to water some post and baskets twice a day.

Mr. Scrapatch, who has returned to work and is continuing physical therapy, 

 has been helpful with this. 


I have been sewing and reading and sitting in the shade.

I Like Thursday # 100 ~ Summer's Gifts from Life in the Scrapatch

 


It is Summer in the Scrapatch!

Mr. Scrapatch is feeling somewhat better and his doctor says he is okay to return to work next week.  He will be continuing with physical therapy for some time.  The good news is no surgery is needed. 

Thanks to all who have sent good wishes.

Stitch Sew & Show ~ Week 24 from Life in the Scrapatch


Welcome to Stitch Sew & Shoe ~ Week 24!

Thank you for all who sent healing wishes 
and who brightened my week by linking up last week.

Mr. Scrapatch has been going to physical therapy and has an appointment with his orthopedic doctor today and is hoping to be returning to work soon.

Right now he is outside in the yard doing a little gardening and I will be joining him in a few minutes when I finish this post.
